I spent Sunday in the kitchen with my mom baking pie! We used my grandmother’s pie crust recipe (see below) and frozen fruit from the farm! We made one peach and one cherry with streusel topping.
This crust is my all time favorite and a family tradition! Enjoy!
Grandma’s Pie Crust
3 cups flour
1 cup shortening
1 tablespoon white vinegar
5 tablespoons water
Cut the shortening into the flour. Add slightly beaten egg. Add vinegar and water and mix. Shape into two balls. Roll out. Add 6 cups sliced fruit with two cups of sugar and two tablespoons flour. Bake at 400 for 40 minutes or until done.
